Bir Horizons has been accredited with several certifications, that include:
1. GOTS: Global Organic Textile Standard
'Certificate of Compliance'
On-site inspection and certification of processors, manufacturers and traders performed by independent specially accredited bodies is the basis of the GOTS monitoring system. This certification enables to recognise industries that provide a credible assurance for the integrity of GOTS certified textiles.
2. Oeko-Tex Standard 100.
'Certificate of Confidence in Textiles'
The OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is an independent testing and certification system for textile raw materials, intermediate and end products at all stages. Examples of certifiable products: raw and dyed / finished yarns, raw and dyed / finished woven and knitted fabrics, made-up articles (clothing of all kinds, home textiles, bed linen, terry, textile toys, etc.)
3. OCS: The Organic Content Standard
The OCS provides a reliable way for companies to substantiate and communicate the organic claims of their products, primarily in the textile and apparel sectors. It covers all stages of the supply chain, from the sourcing of raw materials to the final product. The standard defines requirements for the content and integrity of organic materials and ensures transparency and traceability throughout the production process.
The is a certification and labelling program that verifies the presence and amount of organic material in a product. It is administered by the non-profit organization Textile Exchange, which is dedicated to promoting sustainability in the textile industry.
4. GRS: Global Recyclable Standard
A voluntary certification and labelling program developed by Textile Exchange; a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainability in the textile industry. The GRS sets requirements for the verification of recycled content in products and provides guidelines for social and environmental practices in the supply machines.
The GRS aims to encourage the use of recycled materials, reduce waste, and promote responsible manufacturing practices. It covers the entire supply chain, from the sourcing of recycled materials to the final product. The standard sets requirements for input materials, manufacturing processes, labelling, and traceability.

1. HIGGS
Higg is an organization that develops sustainability assessment tools for the apparel, footwear, and textile industry. Their suite of tools, known as the Higg Index, enables companies to measure and improve their environmental and social sustainability performance throughout their supply chains.
2. ZDHC
The ZDHC stands for Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals. It is an international initiative that aims to eliminate the release of hazardous chemicals in the textile, apparel and footwear industries. The ZDHC program was established in 2011and has since become a leading collaborative platform for driving chemical management and sustainability in the industry.
The primary focus of ZDHC is to develop and promote the implementation of best practices for responsible chemical management throughout the supply chain. The initiative works with brands, manufacturers, chemical suppliers and other stakeholders to achieve its goals.
3. M&S ECP: Environmental & Chemical Policy for textile processing
Registered with Marks & Spencer's, ECP replaces and builds upon the strong foundation of the previous standard (C99) by incorporating the latest information about chemical safety and new legislative requirements. It also provides guidance on the latest best practice for improving quality and efficiency and how the environment can be better protected.
ECP also forms a key part of the Marks & Spencer sustainability strategy, Plan A, which sets out how to tackle the most important social, environmental and ethical challenges facing our industry through a series of commitments.
